A full transcript will be available tomorrow at www.tv.msnbc.com. “Hardball with Chris Matthews” airs weeknights, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET.

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST, “HARDBALL”: I want to ask you about the name of your book, “Leadership.” Hillary Clinton, has she got it?

RUDY GIULIANI: Not from my point of view. Nice person…I respect her, I like her, I’ve gotten to know her.

MATTHEWS: If you ran, would you have liked to have beaten her?

GIULIANI: Well, of course…I don’t know if I would have won or lost. When I dropped out of the race because I had prostate cancer I thought I was going to win but I could have been wrong, and she won a very big victory… I think she’s a good person and I respect her. I disagree with her, and I have a very different philosophy than she has, so from my point of view she would not be a person that I would want to be a leader because she has a different set of views.

MATTHEWS: Is she a New Yorker?

GIULIANI: She’s the United States Senator from New York.

GIULIANI ON WHETHER HE WILL RUN FOR OFFICE AGAIN: I do not know what my political future holds…

MATTHEWS: Wouldn’t it be fun to knock off Chuck Schumer, though? I mean, wouldn’t it be enjoyable to beat him?

GIULIANI: Just for the pure fun of beating Chuck Schumer?…You’re not going to get me to rule out running for anything. I might run for, who knows what, commissioner of something.
