SECAUCUS, N.J. — January 9, 2003 — MSNBCs Hardball College Tour rolls on next week and spends a full hour talking to Sen. Joe Biden (D-Delaware) on Wednesday, Jan. 15 (9-10 p.m., ET) at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. The outgoing Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, Sen. Biden will play hardball with host Chris Matthews on the nations most pressing political stories – from the threat of war in Iraq, to the economy and President Bushs tax plan, to the roster of Democratic candidates for President in 2004. Biden will also face tough questions from students at the University of Delaware during the telecast.
Following the telecast, a UD student selected by the college will sit in the Hardball Hotseat for a one-on-one rapid-fire question and answer session with Hardballs Chris Matthews. At the end of the academic year, Hardball will telecast a final tournament with the top 10 students from the dozens who have competed on the tour, to determine a Hardball Hotseat winner. The final Hardball Hotseat winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship award plus a $5,000 grant for their college.
