NBC presents this treasured and original Oscar-winning holiday classic starring three-time Golden Globe winner Natalie Wood (“Love with a Proper Stranger,” “West Side Story”), Maureen O’Hara (“Lady Godiva”) and Oscar and two-time Golden Globe winner Edmund Gwenn (“Mister 880”). Kris Kringle — unbeknownst to cynical, market-minded adults is the real Santa Claus who is hired to play himself at the famed Macy’s Department Store in New York City. Kringle’s gentle, joyous spirit — and magical powers — soon transform those around him, including little Susan Walker (Wood), and her world-weary mother, Doris (O’Hara). Winner of three Oscar Awards, “Miracle on 34th Street” was written and directed by Golden Globe and three-time Oscar winner George Seaton (“Airport”), and was produced by three-time Oscar nominee William Perlberg (“The Country Girl”).
