Hollywood’s funniest talent including Richard Pryor, Woody Allen, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams and many others have graced the stage of The Improv comedy clubs over the years. On Tuesday, September 3, 2002 (8-9 p.m. ET), NBC will commemorate 40 years of comedy at The Improv with a primetime special entitled “Diet Coke with Lemon Celebrates 40 Years of Laughter: At ‘The Improv.'”

The special will feature classic performances at The Improv, fresh stand-up material and a plethora of Hollywood’s best reflecting on their performances at The Improv during a party hosted by Jay Mohr. Those celebrating The Improv’s 40th anniversary include Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, Kevin Pollock and many more.

Recognizing the importance of laughter, Diet Coke with Lemon will celebrate the Improv’s 40th anniversary and its founder Budd Friedman by sponsoring the special. Diet Coke with Lemon and the Improv are also teaming up to encourage America to “Do What Feels Good – Laugh” with a 21-city comedy tour featuring top comedians from August 23 through October 19.

“Diet Coke with Lemon Celebrates 40 Years of Laughter: At ‘The Improv'” is produced by California Comedy Inc. The Improv’s founder and owner Budd Friedman, Rocco Urbisci and Neal Marshall serve as executive producers. Urbisci will direct.
