NBC will add another festive Christmas event to its holiday ornaments with its new deal with Blockbuster Inc., to broadcast the 71st annual Hollywood Christmas Parade in Blockbuster© Hollywood Christmas Spectacular, featuring over 100 movie and television stars motoring down the streets of Tinseltown that signals the beginning of the Southern California Christmas season.
The parade is a 71-year-old celebration that has been called the largest celebrity parade in the world by incorporating over 100 Hollywood stars every year.
The 2002 edition will include a host of added events and performances by some of todays hottest music acts and entertainers. Performers will travel in front of the world-famous Graumans Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theater, the historic Roosevelt Hotel, the Pantages Theater and other famous Hollywood landmarks.
The parade route begins in front of Graumans Chinese Theater and follows a two-mile route along Hollywood Boulevard, Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard. Hundreds of thousands of onlookers are expected to be street-side to cheer for their favorite floats, marching bands and numerous celebrities parading through the streets of Hollywood.
