Thursday, November 28 on NBC (12-2 p.m. ET)

This two-hour, canine-friendly event will be hosted by John O’Hurley (“Seinfeld”) for broadcast immediately following the live “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade TM” on Thursday, Nov. 28 (12 noon-2 p.m. ET).

The annual dog show hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia is the oldest and one of the most prestigious, continuous-running dog shows in North America. At 103 years old, it is second only to the Kentucky Derby as the longest running sporting event in America. “The National Dog Show” will take place as part of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s annual show, a traditional, open “bench”-type dog show that is expected to feature over 3,000 of the nation’s leading canines in a wide variety of breeds, all vying for “Best in Show” honors.

The “Best in Show” judging from “The National Dog Show” that will be the highlight of the NBC broadcast will include the winning dogs from over 130 breeds and seven different canine groups – Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding groups.

“The National Dog Show” television special will be presented by Purina® brand pet foods, also a sponsor of the Philadelphia event, and will be produced by NBC. Carson International, the United States’ leading packager of canine-oriented events and promotions, will manage the event.
