With the Iraq situation heating up, MSNBC will telecast a new nightly program, Countdown: Iraq, anchored by MSNBC Anchor Lester Holt, beginning Monday, Oct. 7. Countdown: Iraq will telecast Mondays through Fridays at 7-8 p.m. ET and will report daily on the events, reactions and debates in Washington, Baghdad, the Persian Gulf, the United Nations and other related datelines, utilizing the worldwide resources of NBC News. Countdown: Iraq will be produced under the supervision of Mark Effron, Vice President, Live News Programming.
