preview / download SECAUCUS, N.J. — January 8, 2003 — Sam Shane, formerly news anchor at KCPQ-TV in Seattle, WA, has joined MSNBC as an anchor and correspondent, it was announced today by Mark Effron, Vice President, Live News Programming, MSNBC.
Sam is a veteran reporter who brings a wealth of talent and experience to MSNBC, said Effron. He is a great guy with a lot of energy who will be an enormous asset to us and our viewers.
Shane, an accomplished journalist with more than 15 years of experience of television reporting, served as a news anchor at KCPQ-TV since 1999. Previously, he was an anchor in several major markets including Sacramento at KCRA-TV (1991-1997) and San Francisco (1997-1999), where he covered stories such as the Oklahoma City bombing and the L.A. riots. Shane, a Minnesota native, began his career in 1986 at KDLH-TV in Duluth, MN.
Shane graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in journalism. He resides in New Jersey with his wife, Stephanie.
