Sarcastic, street-smart teen Riley (KatharineTowne) arrives at Gossett High in search of information about her birth mother. Riley turns the personal and professional life of Opal (Lauren Graham), the school administrator, upside down when she informs her that she’s the niece Opal never knew she had. Meanwhile, Opal and Mitch (Paul Fitzgerald) compete for the principal’s job, but Riley uses her influence with the Superintendant to help Opal get the inside track.
