BURBANK, Calif. — January 9, 2003 — NBC Enterprises has selected Alfred Haber Distribution, Inc., the world’s largest distributor of awards, music and reality specials produced for US broadcast networks, as the exclusive international distributor of the annual two-hour MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® Pageants, which will be broadcast for the first time by NBC in 2003. The announcement was made today by Jerry Petry, Executive Vice President, NBC Enterprises and George Scanlon, Chief Operating Officer, Alfred Haber Distribution, Inc.

Broadcast in over 125 different countries and seen by hundreds of millions of viewers over the years, MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® competitions have become fixtures of pop culture throughout the world. In addition to performances by international music superstars, the pageants, now in their 52ND year, feature talented, savvy, goal-oriented and inspiring young women who compete with the hope of advancing their careers as well as personal and humanitarian goals, including improving the lives of other women around the world.

“Alfred Haber Distribution’s tremendous track record in handling specials and awards programming within the international marketplace makes it the perfect match for Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA,” says Petry. “The three pageants have become Must-See TV for not only the American TV audience, but for the rest of the world, as well.”

The Miss Universe Organization, producers of the pageants, is a Donald J. Trump and NBC partnership. The MISS USA® pageant is scheduled for March, 2003; the MISS UNIVERSE® pageant is scheduled for a June, 2003, telecast; and the MISS TEEN USA® pageant is scheduled for August, 2003. NBC will broadcast all three events as live, prime time specials in the U.S.
