preview / download BURBANK, Calif. — January 13, 2003 — Alan Seiffert has been named Vice President, Business Affairs for NBC Enterprises. The announcement was made today by Jon Hookstratten, Executive Vice President, NBC Enterprises, to whom he will report.
In his new post, Seiffert will oversee the negotiation of deals for NBC Enterprises world-wide first-run programming and distribution activities, including domestic syndication, international television, home video, music, new media, licensing and merchandising. Seiffert will also coordinate with other NBC divisions to maximize the value of NBC properties in ancillary markets.
Alans diverse background and extensive legal experience are a perfect match for NBC Enterprises, says Hookstratten. Alans expertise and knowledge will play a vital role as we continue to grow across many different fronts.
Seiffert joins NBC Enterprises from the National Basketball Association, where he served as Assistant General Counsel in the NBAs New York City headquarters. At the NBA, Seiffert managed all deal transactions for NBA Entertainments International Television and Media group. He also served as the primary negotiator on key television exhibition deals for NBA programs in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Spanish language broadcasts in the U.S.
Prior to his stint with the NBA, Seiffert spent six years working for Fox Entertainment Group in Los Angeles. Most recently, Seiffert served as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, at Twentieth Television, where he oversaw business affairs and provided legal counsel for Fox Televisions syndication group. Prior to that, he served as Director, Business and Legal Affairs at FX Networks and worked in the legal department at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp.
Before joining Fox, Seiffert was an attorney at Los Angeles-based Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP. He also served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Abele Cook, Jr. of the U.S. District Court in Detroit, MI.
Seiffert is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and also holds a Masters Degree from New York University. Seiffert received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge. Seiffert currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Mindy Hahn-Seiffert and daughter Mikaela.
