BETSY BRAUN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAMMING & DEVELOPMENT NBC ENTERPRISES

photo preview / download BURBANK, Calif. — January 13, 2003 — Betsy Braun has been named Vice President, Programming & Development for NBC Enterprises. The announcement was made today by Linda Finnell, Senior Vice President, Programming and Development for NBC Enterprises, to whom she will report.

In her new post, Braun will oversee production on nationally syndicated series “The John Walsh Show.” She will also play an integral role in developing new talent and first-run programming for NBC Enterprises.

“Betsy is a truly talented programming executive with a very strong background in first-run syndication and television research,” said Finnell. “Betsy’s wealth of experience will play a vital role in the future success of NBC Enterprises’ programming as well as ‘The John Walsh Show.”

Braun joins NBC Enterprises from Telepictures Productions, where she was Director, Current Programming from 2000-2002. While at Telepictures, Braun oversaw production of syndicated series “Street Smarts,” “Change of Heart” and “Elimidate.” She also managed and approved content, budgets, scripts and casting on current Telepictures series.

Prior to Telepictures, Braun was Vice President, Research at Universal Worldwide Television for over three years. While at Universal, she directed all sales, programming and development research for syndication and cable distribution. She also helped develop the long-running syndication hit “Blind Date.”

From 1995-1997, Braun served as an Associate Program Director at Seltel, Inc., advising 35 local television stations with their program scheduling and acquisitions. From 1988-1995, Braun was an Account Executive with Nielsen Media Research, where she sold syndication rating subscriptions and custom market research.

Braun graduated with a B.A. in Communications from the University of Delaware. She currently resides in New York City.
