He will work with his counterpart at NBC 5, reporter Scott Gordon. This exchange is part of The Exchange, a program compiling a series of stories as part of September 11th coverage. Ridha Bou Guezzi will be in Texas September 6-13 and will work on a series of stories on the people and culture of Texas.

NBC 5’s Scott Gordon returned from Tunisia on August 29th, where he was given a rare perspective of the Arab world. Gordon’s reports will first air exclusively on NBC 5 next week. All of the reports from the journalists’ who took part in the program will be combined into a documentary television special on The Exchange which will be hosted by Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, and will broadcast on both American and Arabic networks in December.

The goal of the exchange is to move beyond the headlines and foreign policy debates and challenge misconceptions, stereotypes and prejudices on both sides.

The journalist exchange program gives an opportunity for a small group of local NBC television journalists and Arab (MBC) journalists to trade places. They each spent one week producing human-interest feature reports in different parts of the U.S. and Arab countries. They will show how each culture has changed since the September 11th attack on America and with the current Middle East crisis.

“This is a great opportunity for Dallas-Fort Worth to gain a different perspective on the issues and events surrounding September 11th. As a leader in news, NBC 5 is honored to take part in this exchange program,” said Tom O’Brien, President and General Manager of KXAS TV.
