photo preview / download BALA CYNWYD, Pa.– December 31, 2002 -– NBC 10 News adds a new member to the weather team! The new NBC 10 News Meteorologist Amy Freeze will break the ice, on Saturday, January 11th, 2003. Amy Freeze, will start out as weekend weather anchor.

Yes, it’s her real name, which is why some think she was destined to talk about the weather!

Most recently she worked for ABC television in Denver, Colorado for KMGH’s weather department.

Prior to ABC she was the morning meteorologist for WB2 Morning News in Denver. Freeze provided weather reports every ten minutes from 6-9 AM.

Prior to Denver, Freeze spent three years producing and anchoring weather forecasts on the Pacific coast in Portland with KPTV’s local morning news program “Good Day Oregon.”

NBC 10 News Vice President Chris Blackman says, “We are thrilled to add Amy to what is already the best weather team in Philadelphia. Her passion for weather comes across on air, and I’m sure our viewers will appreciate her enthusiasm.”

Freeze graduated with a BA in Broadcasting from Brigham Young University and later she earned a BS in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Freeze is an active member of both the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA).

Freeze is also a huge sports fan and has covered both Major League Soccer and the Olympic games. She also runs in local road races and has completed four marathons in Colorado, California, Illinois and New York.

Freeze and her husband and two sons are looking forward to their move to Philadelphia!
