preview / download NEW YORK — December 12, 2002 — Cameron Blanchard, Director, Communications for NBC Sports, has been promoted to Senior Director; and publicist Kathy Connors has been promoted to Manager, Communications, NBC Sports. The announcements were made today by Kevin Sullivan, Vice President, Communications, NBC Sports.
These well deserved promotions recognize exemplary work and the significant contributions Cameron and Kathy make to NBC Sports, Sullivan said.
Blanchard joined NBC Sports as director of communications in June 2000 after four years in the communications department at MSNBC and four years with the NBA marketing communications staff.
Connors came to NBC Sports as Coordinator, Communications in May 2000 following three years as assistant director of media relations at the University of Massachusetts. She was promoted to the position of NBC Sports publicist in July 2001.
Blanchard leads NBC Sports communications efforts for several properties, including the upcoming launch of NBCs Arena Football League coverage and the networks telecasts of Wimbledon, the French Open, the Visa Triple Crown and Breeders Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.
Connors leads NBC Sports communications efforts for Notre Dame football, the PGA Tour, the Gator Bowl and the Gravity Games.
In addition, both Blanchard and Connors contribute extensively to NBC Sports overall strategic communications initiatives and in particular the networks coverage of the Olympic Games.
